PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging apparatus capable of performing imaging with high accuracy by avoiding both output saturation and desensitization. SOLUTION: This solid-state imaging device 1 is provided with a light receiving part 10 having the m-th row light receiving area 11<SB>m</SB>(m=1 to M), M first signal processing parts 20<SB>1</SB>to 20M, M second signal processing parts 30<SB>1</SB>to 30M or the like. In the light receiving part 10, a pair of a photodiode PDA for monitoring and a photodiode PDB for image picking up for respectively generating electrical charges of amounts based on incident light intensity are two- dimensionally arranged in M rows and N columns. An electrical charge QA,<SB>m</SB>,<SB>n</SB>that occur in the photodiode PDA,<SB>m</SB>,<SB>n</SB>for monitoring is detected by the first signal processing part 20<SB>m</SB>S, and an opened/closed state of each of switches SW<SB>31</SB>to SW<SB>33</SB>of the second signal processing part 30<SB>m</SB>is set on the basis of the detection results.
