PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exercise amount instrument for measuring the amount of exercise facilitating the determination of appropriate exercise. SOLUTION: A base metabolism B is calculated from inputted body weight and height (steps ST2 and ST3), while an instrument is attached to a human body and an actual measurement exercise amount A is found by the output of an acceleration sensor 1 (steps ST8-ST11). After a lapse of 24 hours (a step ST17), the indexχfor daily activity is found based on the base metabolism amount B and the measured amount of exercise A (a step ST18), the calculated indexχfor daily activity is ranked (a step ST19), and the activity strength is displayed by classification into I (rather light), II (medium), and III (rather heavy) (a step ST20).
