PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for pressure-casting a preform by which float-up of the preform in pouring molten metal and crack of the preform caused by thermal-deformation can be restrained and to provide an apparatus for pressure- casting the preform. SOLUTION: A vertical cylindrical flow rate control member 7 having a partition wall 70 extended along the height direction and a molten metal supplying path 72 communicated with a supplying tube body 3 is disposed in a forming cavity 10 of a forming die 1. The molten metal is poured to the upper surface sides 61u, 62u of the respective preforms 61, 62 by allowing the molten metal in the molten metal supplying passage 72 of the flowing rate control member 7 to flow along the thickness direction of the partition wall 70 while holding the surface height of the molten metal in the molten metal supplying passage 72 of the flowing rate control member 7 higher than the surface height of the molten metal in the forming cavity. In this way, the molten metal is poured into both of the lower surface sides 61d, 62d and the upper surface sides 61u, 62u of the preforms 61, 62. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
