<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave sensor which can prevent a false report by a method wherein an object to be detected such as a human body or the like is discriminated precisely from an object not to be detected with reference to the microwave sensor which detects an object by using microwaves. <P>SOLUTION: With reference to the microwave sensor, two kinds of microwaves are transmitted toward a detection area, and an object detection operation is performed on the basis of reflected waves of the microwaves from the object existing inside the detection area. A change amount per unit time of a relative distance up to the object existing inside the detection area is measured, and the object is judged to be the object to be detected (the human body) only when the change amount is a prescribed amount or more. Therefore, whether the object to be detected is the human body or a plant or the like trembled by a wind is discriminated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
