PURPOSE: A method for displaying teletext of a TV is provided to display a TV image and teletext characters at the same time by partially displaying teletext data. CONSTITUTION: The total line number of data to be displayed on a screen is inputted. A start position where the data is displayed on the screen is inputted to decide a display area. A line start number of the lines of the data to be displayed is inputted. If the line start number of the data to be displayed is changed in the middle of displaying teletext data, new teletext data is displayed at the designated area. If the total line number or the start position is changed in the middle of displaying teletext data, the size of the display area is changed.
