PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interline rod enabling smooth discharge of accumulated water introduced together with the fishing line into the rod. SOLUTION: The interline rod is provided with a butt rod 1 and a tubular tip rod 2 connected to the tip side of the butt rod 1 in a telescopically extensible manner and having a line-introducing hole 10 on the circumference for introducing a line delivered from a reel into the rod. The circumference of the butt-side of the tip rod 2 to be inserted into the butt rod 1 is formed to continuously contact with the inner circumference of the tip-side of the butt rod 1 over a definite length in the lengthwise direction. When the butt rod 1 is swiftly pushed toward the tip side, air is pushed out into the tip-side rod to discharge the retained water from the rod by the actions of the butt rod 1 and the tip rod 2 as a piston and a cylinder.
