PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alternator for a vehicle, capable of maintaining stable cooling capability in a high-temperature environment over a long time. SOLUTION: In this alternator for the vehicle, which comprises a stator having a generating coil, a rotor rotating in the stator for supplying an alternating field to the stator, a control part for controlling generation amount, a rectifying part for rectifying generated current, a plurality of brackets holding the stator and the rotor, and a coolant flowing passage for flowing the coolant into at least one bracket for transmitting heat which the generating coil self- generates to the outside of the alternating field, a tightening member which is formed out of a material having proper thermal conductivity, integrates and fixes the control part and a heat sink of the control part with/to the bracket at a position distant from the bracket is provided to transmit the heat of the control part to the bracket by the tightening member.
