The tie pile is inserted into the ground and anchored by first boring a hole to receive a double-wall tube (7). The tie pile (2) is then inserted into the bore of the inner tube. The next step is to inject an anchoring medium under high pressure into the annular space (8) between the inner and outer tubes. This anchoring medium flows into the free space surrounding the projecting end of the tie pile and hardens to form a solid mass which is bonded to the tie pile and anchors it in the surrounding soil. USE/ADVANTAGE - For harbour and other retaining wall erection, with a facility to use relatively short piles.
