PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winding system or feed system for surely restraining the rotation of a feed beam or winding roll upon halting a loom. SOLUTION: This winding system or feed system functions to rotate the winding roll (11) or feed beam (2) via a motor (15), respectively, when a drive (14) drives the motor (15) for exclusive use based on a speed command signal outputted in response to a loom control signal; wherein a halt retention command means (20) is added to the drive (14) and functions to retain the motor (15) at a halt by outputting a halt retention command when the speed command signal is outputted at a value below the output range of such a signal in the case of normally operating the loom.
