STERILIZATION METHOD USING PLASMA AT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE

PURPOSE: Provided is a method for sterilizing pathogenic microorganisms using plasma at atmospheric pressure, which is harmless to environment since it does not generate harmful substances and shortens sterilization time. CONSTITUTION: The sterilization method is conducted using plasma at atmospheric pressure. More concretely, the method is conducted by sterilizing pathogenic microorganisms with active radicals generated by an atmospheric plasma generating apparatus. The plasma generating apparatus has a chamber and an article to be sterilized is placed in the chamber. In the chamber, the article is sterilized using active radicals generated by plasma. When an article to be sterilized is packed in a sterilization bag, the bag is placed in the chamber and the article is sterilized by gas discharge.
