<p>A method of forming a continuous structure (77) includes the steps of preselecting a liquid reactive resin material (89), a particulate solid additive material (88), a porous blanket (61), and a thin fibrous sheet (64). The additive particles (88) are mixed with the liquid resin material (89) substantially continuously in a proportion significantly greater than that of the liquid resin material (89), thereby encapsulating the additive particles (88). A pool of the resulting mixture (76) is formed between the blanket (61) and the sheet (64) and the blanket (61) and sheet (64) are advanced at a rate sufficient to maintain a suspension of the additive particles (88) and the pool (76). Part of the liquid forming material (89) is migrated through the blanket (61) and the sheet (64) in a uniform manner.</p> |
