PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reactor suitable for practical use and having a reaction tank which has an enlarged area to be irradiated with ultrasonic energy and in which a reactant can be irradiated with ultrasonic energy uniformly. SOLUTION: This reactor 100 is constituted of the bottom-blind cylindrical reaction tank 4, an ultrasonic oscillator 1, a vibrator 2 and an irradiating body 3 for emitting ultrasonic energy. The body 3 has a columnar shape, for example. The vibrator 2 for emitting an ultrasonic wave is fit to one end of the body 3. The body 3 for emitting the ultrasonic energy in the radial direction is disposed in the tank 4 so that the area to be irradiated with the ultrasonic energy can be made large and the reactant in the tank 4 can be irradiated with the ultrasonic energy uniformly.
