METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TREATING MATERIAL CONTAINING OIL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and effectively subject an oil-containing material to be treated to decomposition treatment while preventing the generation of an offensive odor by using microorganisms.

SOLUTION: A method includes a deoiling/separation process in which the oil-containing object is washed with water for deoiling to be separated into the deoiled object and oil-containing water, a biological treatment process in which organic substances in the object after being treated in the deoiling/ separation process are decomposed in water in the presence of a trace element supplying material while being aerated, an activated sludge concentration process in which at least part of activated sludge produced in the biological treatment process is concentrated, and an oil decomposition process in which the oil in the oil-containing water separated from the object in the deoiling/separation process is decomposed in the presence of the trace element supplying material by using the activated sludge concentrated in the activated sludge concentration process.
