PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem for a conventional amplitude attenuator, which requires a change in connection by a connection line, according to impedance variation at the load side and requires a long time for adjustment of these connections. SOLUTION: In the high-frequency electrical signal amplitude attenuator formed by a transmission line path 2 on a dielectric and a set of open stubs 9, the set of open stubs 9 has a line path length longer than (2m-1)/4 and shorter than m/2 wavelength of a predetermined high frequency and is composed of open stubs with resistance of equal line length, one end of which a resistance element 9 is connected. Each resistance connection end of the open stubs with resistance is arranged at the side of the transmission line path 2 for 2 points located at an interval of (2n-1)/4 wavelength of the predetermined high frequency on the transmission line path 2. According to this arrangement, the amplitude attenuator can obtain amplitude attenuation characteristics which are independent from the load impedance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
