<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode electrode, its manufacturing method, and a lithium battery using this cathode electrode. <P>SOLUTION: This cathode electrode is prepared by forming a cathode active material layer on a current collector, the cathode active material layer is formed by filling sulfur 3 in pores, and/or by containing a conductive material whose surface is coated with the sulfur 3, and the lithium battery using this cathode electrode keeps a structural shape of the active material layer by porous conductive material even if the phase change of the sulfur 3 is caused in charge discharge, and therefore, structural stability in charge discharge is ensured. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
