PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burst wave detecting device for estimating a burst wave detecting position with precision when the arrival of burst wave is detected. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a phase converter 2 for over- sampling, a one-symbol difference output device 3 for obtaining a difference at each symbol, a vector converter 4 for vector-converting difference data, a threshold detecting part 9 for outputting a first detecting signal 11 when the absolute value of movement average concerning vector data at one-symbol interval exceeds a prescribed threshold, a minimum value detecting part 10 for outputting a second detecting signal 12 when the absolute value of the movement average concerning a series of vector data becomes the minimum value and a burst detection deciding part 13 for detecting the burst wave based on the detecting signals 11 and 12.
