摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a piston with a sufficient strength in an inner surface of a depth in an engaging part at a lower cost. <P>SOLUTION: A piston material 160 for manufacturing the piston 14 for a swash plate compressor is produced via die cast step S10 and fixing step S12. In an intermediate product 230 after an outer peripheral surface processing step S14, an inner surface cutting step S16, and a plastic deformation applying step S18, at a fine shot peening step S20, an inner surface of the engaging part including the inner surface of the depth is smoothed by projecting fine shots with a average particle diameter of 500μm or less at a rate of 50 m/sec or more to the inner surface of the depth in the engaging part to cause compression residual stress, thereby improving fatigue strength in the engaging part 70 of the piston 14 as an end product.
