<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide iron oxide particles whose low coaguration and magnetic property are balanced and able to be arranged in an electrification performance balance and a mutual solubility with a resin when magnetic toner is produced. <P>SOLUTION: In the iron oxide particles, silicon is contained in the inner part of the particles, their surfaces are coated with a complex iron oxide which contains silicon and zinc, a volumetric ratio of zinc contained in the particles with 5 vol.% dissolution rate of iron element from the surfaces to silicon is 2-5, a mean particle diameter on pieces by a SEM observation is 0.1-0.3μm, the mean particle diameter on pieces D<SB>50</SB>by a laser diffraction scattering particle size distribution measurement is 200-1,000 nm and a particle shape is octahedral. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
