PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture display device capable of displaying a picture having superior stability, particularly, superior repeating durability as a dry display device formed by filling particles between two substrates. SOLUTION: The picture display device is formed by filling two or more kinds of particles having different colors and different charge properties or one kind of particle between the facing substrates of which the at least one is transparent and by providing an electrical field between the substrates to move the particles for displaying the picture. The picture display device uses the particles used for picture display and having a bending modulus of 44.1 MPa or more. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
