PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method for optical connector by which the optical connector is manufactured with little quantity of polishing and reduced working man-hour while suppressing the lowering of positional accuracy of optical fibers, and the optical connector. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method for the optical connector comprises inserting an optical fiber 2a into each of a plurality of fiber holes of a ferrule 3 which is molded from synthetic resin and has a plurality of fiber holes formed on an butting end surface; bonding and fixing the optical fibers, and polishing the butting end surface 3a. The optical connector is manufactured by the manufacturing method. The butting end surface 3a is obliquely formed and after the optical fibers 2a are bonded and fixed in the fiber holes, the oblique surface is polished. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
