PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of stably making a lithographic printing plate free from precipitation of an IR absorbing dye in a plate face protective liquid even if a long-term treatment and thereby free from contamination during printing. SOLUTION: The method for making the lithographic printing plate is carried out by exposing an IR ray-sensitive lithographic printing plate having an image forming layer containing an IR absorbing dye to IR rays, and by developing and treating with the plate face protective liquid containing soybean polysaccharides.
