<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve an excellent image with small varitions by compensating a driving TFT through pixel arrangement having a plurality of switching elements and storage capacitors. <P>SOLUTION: The pixel arrangement is used which has one driving TFT, four switching elements, three gate control signal lines, and two storage capacitors. The gate potential of the TFT 17a is put closer to the ground potential by operating the three gate control signal lines to apply current to the TFT 17a. Then a switching element 17e is turned off and then the current to the TFT 17a raises the gate potential up to the threshold voltage of the TFT, thereby compensating variance of characteristics of the TFT 17a. For compensation time improvement of the TFT 17a, a voltage Vdd which is nearly as high as that of an EL power line is applied to a source signal line 11 and a gate driver 18 drives all or a plurality of lines at the same time to perform simultaneous compensation for the driving TFT. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
