POLYMER DISPERSED LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PURPOSE: A polymer dispersed liquid crystal display is provided to improve the dark state by projecting linear light into polymer matrix layers while minimizing loss of light emitted from a back light. CONSTITUTION: An upper substrate(200) and a lower substrate(100) face each other at a certain interval, having driving electrodes(101,201) respectively. A first polymer matrix layer(300) and a second polymer matrix layer are interposed between the upper and lower substrates. Micro droplets(300a) are dispersed in the first polymer matrix layer and the second polymer matrix layer, and have liquid crystal molecules(300b) inside. A back light(400) transmits light to the lower substrate. A reflective mirror(500) reflects light emitted from the back light. A λ/4 layer(600) transforms the light emitted from the back light into linear light. A CLC(Cholesteric Liquid Crystal) layer(700) projects the linear light into the polymer matrix layers.
