PURPOSE: A flat panel display is provided to minimize the deterioration of the picture quality due to aligning errors by using a hopping phenomenon of electrons. CONSTITUTION: A flat panel display includes a cathode(23), a channel duct(24), a control electrode(25a) and a signal electrode(25b), a plurality of extraction plates(26), a focusing electrode(27), a horizontal deflection electrode(28) and a vertical deflection electrode(29), and a screen. The cathode is used for generating electrons. The channel duct is formed with a plurality of insulators. The control electrode and the signal electrode are used for controlling the amount of electrons according to video signals. The extraction plates are used for extracting the electrons from the channel duct. The focusing electrode is used for focusing the electrons. The horizontal deflection electrode and the vertical deflection electrode are used for deflecting the electrons to a horizontal or a vertical direction. A phosphor is coated on the screen.
