New ligands (I) comprise a hydroxyalkyl-substituted heterocycle containing at least one nitrogen atom and possibly one or more other heteroatoms Nitrogen heterocyclic ligands of formula (I) and their derivatives are new. B and C = -CH2-, -CHAr1-, -CAr1Ar2- or -CAr1R3- (with Ar1, Ar2 being aryl, optionally substituted or condensed, and possibly with one or more heteroatoms); R3 = alkyl, alkenyl, arylalkyl or arylalkenyl; R1 and R2 = H or R3; A = a heterocyclic ring, monocyclic or polycyclic, unsaturated or aromatic, optionally incorporating one or more heteroatoms other than N; n and n' = 1 or 2. B may be linked with R2 and/or C with R1 to form a cycloalkyl radical (saturated, unsaturated or aromatic), or, when n or n' = 2, B and/or C may represent an ethylenic bond, if need be in a ring, optionally containing one or more heteroatoms and/or substituted by an aromatic ring. The bond may be substituted by a group Ar1 and/or R3 on condition that B and C do not simultaneously form a double bond in a non-substituted phenyl ring.
