<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a video conference system in which devices are made small and economization is performed by reducing the processing load of a processor. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of signal transmitting devices connected in a ring shape through a network to perform a video conference have a physical interface 204 for performing physical matching with a transmission line, an SAR part 203 for mutiplexing and multiplexly separating a signal such as an image, a sound and data, and a ring functioning part 210 for constructing a ring type network. The ring type functioning part is provided internally with a conference controlling means 801 that uses data for conference control having commands for controlling the beginning and end of a conference, information indicating the number of signal transmitting devices participating in the conference, information showing a conference number for identifying a conference to realize a plurality of conferences in the network, and information showing the inherent number of a device participating in the conference and the condition of the device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
