<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothen motion of an image of an image signal generated by performing double speed conversion while suppressing plane flicker disturbance even in various image variations. <P>SOLUTION: The first part of a frame starts with a first field, a signal subjected to double speed conversion is inputted, the first field is identified on the basis of a difference value of an operated pixel signal level, an interpolated pixel data is calculated with respect to the each detected pixel, and the interpolated pixel data is written to a pixel position, wherein the position of a detected pixel is shifted in the vector direction of a motion vector such that an amount of shift is progressively increased in accordance with a transition made from the identified first field to the subsequent fields. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
