PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet printer in which throughput is prevented from lowering even if refresh operation is performed in the interval of print operation. SOLUTION: The ink jet printer comprising one or more print head having a plurality of nozzles for ejecting ink drops and performing printing by ejecting ink from the nozzles to a print sheet is provided with a refresh drop receiver orthogonally to the carrying direction of the print sheet so that refresh is performed to the refresh drop receiver. The refresh drop receiver is operable in the sheet feeding direction to traverse a print head completely and arranged in annular endless system or single side winding system.
