A discharging method for gas decomposition in which gas to be processed is made to flow between opposed electrodes, a predetermined voltage is applied between the electrodes, and a discharge in a transition zone from glow discharge to arc discharge is maintained between the electrodes. A discharge device for gas decomposition is characterized by comprising opposed electrodes for demarcating a space where a gas to be processed is made to flow, power source for applying a predetermined voltage between the electrodes, and a means for adjusting the voltage or the frequency of the power source in order to maintain the discharge in a transition zone from glow discharge to arc discharge between the electrodes.
|
