Release film with a plastic base and a silicone coating (3) which forms a layer of low adhesion towards an adhesive layer (2) on a laminated substrate, in which the plastic base has a barrier layer (4) of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer and/or styrene block copolymer to absorb substances migrating from layer (2).
