PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to improve workability and to prevent a high-voltage motor from being damaged by automatically setting sensitivity of a metal piece detector depending on conductivity variation thereof. CONSTITUTION: A moisture detector(4-12) is fixedly installed at an upper portion of a belt conveyor(4-2). The moisture detector(4-12) is connected to a control unit(A-2), which is connected to a central processing unit(4-3). The central processing unit(4-3) has an input section(4-5) for converting data inputted through the control unit(A-2) into an electric signal. The input section(4-5) is connected to an output section(4-8), which is connected to the central processing unit(4-3), through a controller(4-11). A transformer(4-6) is connected to the controller(4-11).
