PURPOSE: Multi-functional fiber containing mineral stone powder is characterized by having antibiosis without adding an antibacterial agent and radiating far infrared ray and an anion. The fiber is useful for clothes, textile for interior, a filler of bedclothes and non-woven fabric. CONSTITUTION: The mineral stone having 0.2-3 micrometer of average particle size is comprised of 80-85wt.% of SiO2, 5-10wt.% of Al2O3, 2-5wt.% of K2O, 2-3wt.% of Na2O, 1-2wt.% of CaO, 1-2wt.% of Fe2O3, 0.5-1wt.% of MgO, 0.1-0.5wt.% of TiO2 and 0.01-0.1wt.% of MnO. The multi-functional fiber containing the mineral stone powder is obtained by the steps of: mixing and melting 10-25wt.% of the mineral stone powder with a synthetic fiber resin to manufacture master batch; mixing the master batch with a synthetic resin chip to manufacture a mixture containing 0.5-5wt.% of the mineral stone powder based on total weight of fiber; melting and mixing the mixture at 170-290deg.C, followed by spinning the mixture; drawing yarn at 80-150deg.C to make the yarn having 2-15denier; and then winding or cutting the yarn.
