PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for inspecting the connecting strength of an electric resistance welded tube in which a defect of the tube which is hardly discovered in a conventional method can be discovered. SOLUTION: The apparatus for inspecting the connecting strength of the electric resistance welded tube comprises a support mechanism 1 for horizontally supporting the electric resistance welded tube P to be inspected, an inspecting rod 6 capable of being inserted at its end into the end of the tube P, and a heating mechanism 8 for heating the part to be inserted at the rod 6 of the tube P to a temperature for softening the tube P.
