PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switch device hardly affected by influence of dust and dirt and capable of improving durability and reliability by a simple structure. SOLUTION: In a start lever 30, a first permanent magnet 38 is fixed to the operation shaft 34, and a second permanent magnet 40 having the same polarity as the first permanent magnet 38 is arranged opposedly. Repulsion force based on magnetism between the first and second permanent magnets 38 and 40 always works on each other, and the operation shaft 34 is centered in the neutral position. When the operation shaft 34 is operated to be shifted against the magnetism, this shift is detected by a detection part 48. Around the operation shaft 34, a simple structure is realized as no member such as a bush is fixed slidably, and adhesion of a foreign matter such as dust and dirt in this part can be prevented. Returning ability of the operation shaft 34 is not deteriorated, uneven wear of the operation shaft 34 is prevented, and consequently, durability and reliability can be improved.
