An electrical power switch uses a compressed gas for the extinguishing of arcs between contacts. The gas flows [30] through an exhaust tube [101] and this has a profiled channel surface [110] with a zig zag shape. As the gas flows over the surface vortex eddies are formed which causes mixing and lowers temperature to provide high dielectric breakdown strength. |
