HEAT TREATMENT METHOD OF STAINLESS STEEL TUBE FOR AUTOMOTIVE EXHAUST SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A heat treatment method of stainless steel tube for automotive exhaust system is provided to prevent burst of the tube during hydroforming by heat treating the tube hardened by welding and processing. CONSTITUTION: In a method for heat treating a 400 series stainless steel tube for automotive exhaust system before bending and hydroforming the tube, the heat treatment method of the 400 series stainless steel tube for automotive exhaust system comprises the step of performing annealing treatment on a tube formed by pipe-making a 400 series stainless steel sheet in the temperature range of 800 to 1,000 deg.C, wherein heat treatment time in the annealing treatment step is 1 to 10 minutes.
