FIELD: analytical methods in food industry. SUBSTANCE: in particular, invention relates to determining microquantities of avermectines in animal- and vegetable-origin foodstuffs after using preparations containing avermectines and intended to protect animals and plants against ecto- and endoparasites. Method comprises sampling, homogenization of sample, extraction of avermectines, and their evaluation using HPLC-fluorescence technique. Fluorescent derivatives are prepared in acetic anhydride in presence of N- methylimidazole heating in a boiling water bath for 1 h. Before heating, reaction mixture can be ultrasonically treated for 20-40 sec. Avermectines are purified by rapid- chromatography technique, first on cation-exchange and then on anion-exchange sorbent, the former being modified silica gel with grafted octyl groups and the latter modified silica gel with grafted NH groups.
