PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure earth connection of an earthing part of a board, to prevent increase of noise and to reduce a manufacturing cost and the number of manufacturing processes. SOLUTION: This discharge lamp lighting device is provided with a metallic case body 3 for housing the board 1 provided with electric/electronic components for lighting the discharge lamp, and a metallic case cover overlaid on the case body 3 and covering the upper surface of the board 1. The earthing part 2 formed on the board 1 is brought into contact with and electrically connected to a case 4 comprising the case body 3 and the case cover. Thereby, the discharge lamp lighting device capable of reducing noise can be provided at a low cost without forming a screw hole or the like for connecting a jumper wire of the board like a conventional one or increasing the manufacturing cost of the case and the number of processes thereof.
