<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical switch in which switching time is reduced, manufacturing is made easy and the cost is reduced and to provide a driving method of the switch in which reliability is secured. <P>SOLUTION: When a phase varying film of an optical path switching means 25 of an optical switch 20 becomes a crystal state i.e. a first switching state, light beams L1 being inputted into a first input connector section 21 are led to a first output connector section 23 and light beams L2 inputted into a second input connector section 22 are led to a second output connector section 24. When the phase varying film of the means 25 becomes an amorphous state i.e. a second switching state, the light beams L1 being inputted into the section 21 are led to the section 24 and the light beams L2 being inputted into the section 22 are led to the section 23. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
