PURPOSE: A method for handoff between high data rate communication networks is provided to realize a high data rate service without call drop when a mobile station receives the high data rate service. CONSTITUTION: When a mobile station moves to IS-95 A/B networks in the state of receiving a packet data service in an IS-95 C network, the mobile station transmits a PSMM(Pilot Strength Measurement Message) to a serving base station(S111). The serving base station sends a service request message to the mobile station for suggesting the packet data service in another networks(S112). If the mobile station accepts the service in another networks, the mobile station sends an SRPM(Service Response Message) to the serving base station(S113). The serving base station informs the mobile station of information related to a service environment and a wireless environment of a target base station through an SRCM(Service Connect Message)(S114). The mobile station notifies the serving station that the mobile station has received the service connect message through a service connect complete message(S115). The serving base station informs of a pseudo noise code as information related to the target base station through a UHDM(Universal Handoff Direction Message)(S116). The mobile station sends a response message to the serving base station(S117). The mobile station reports a handoff complete message to the target base station(S118).
