PURPOSE: An air conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to detect the radiant temperature for at least two interior rooms by using a radiant temperature sensor and compute the real interior pleasantness temperature not the room temperature. CONSTITUTION: Wall type or vertical air conditioner(10) installed to a wall of the room to air-condition interior air comprises a radiant temperature sensor installed to a discharge port to measure the radiant temperature of at least two interior rooms(a,b,c,d,e,f,g) and a microcomputer controlling the discharge amount of the air conditioner according to the radiant temperature of the room detected by the radiant temperature sensor.
