BALLOON CATHETER AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxial type balloon catheter having a flexible structure in the joined part of the sleeve on the proximal side of a balloon and the shaft on the distal side thereof, not suddenly changed in rigidity, reduced in difference in level to be enabled to smoothly advance through a blood vessel region high in constriction degree or bending degree and capable of being easily manufactured in a high production yield by the reduced number of manufacturing processes.

SOLUTION: In the biaxial type balloon catheter for medical treatment, only the expanded lumen of the shaft is removed between the shaft and the shaft distal end from the joined part with the balloon sleeve on the proximal end and the main wall of the expanded lumen on the distal side from the joined part is constituted of the balloon sleeve on the proximal end.
