PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct the shape mistake of a molding except a shape mistake generated due to the cooling step of molding in the real using state of the molding. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the molding comprises the steps of designing a mold member for molding an optical element (step S2), manufacturing the member (step S3), actually molding the optical element (step S5), and measuring the shape of the optical element (step S6). The method further comprises the step of judging whether the shaping mistake falls within a predetermined tolerance or not (step S7). That is, whether the shape mistake of the optical element falls within the tolerance or not is judged (step S7), by assuming that the generating line of the element is not parallel to the lines of both sides in the state in which a stress is not received, and a strain is generated at the line and the strain is corrected in the state in which the element is assembled in the image forming device.
