METHOD FOR MEASURING AXIAL FORCE OF INNER RING OF ROLLING BEARING UNIT FOR SUPPORTING WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine an axial force applied to an inner ring 12 fixed to a hub body 11 with a caulking part 14.

SOLUTION: The difference T of propagation time of ultrasonic waves of a hub body 11 before and after a caulking part 14 is determined. The correlation between the difference of the propagation time of the ultrasonic waves based on elastic deformation of the hub body 11 due to formation of the caulking 14 to the hub body 11, and an axial direction force applied to an inner ring 12 by the caulking part 14, is determined in advance. The axial force applied to the inner ring 12 is determined by collating the correlation with the difference T of the propagation time.
