The electric power steering (7) for a motor vehicle is connected via a reduction gear (8) to a drive shaft (6). An elastic coupling (17) is placed between the motor (7) shaft (15) and the input shaft such as the reduction gear worm (9), coaxial to the motor shaft. The elastic coupling operates in torsion to reduce vibration transmission from the reduction gear.
