PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver that can effectively utilize the capacity of a data storage device 3 and increase an access speed to the data storage device 3. SOLUTION: The digital broadcast receiver includes the data storage device 3 to store received digital broadcast data. While storing currently received digital broadcast data for a prescribed time to a buffer area at all times, the data storage device 3 converts digital broadcast data stored in the buffer area into files when the data storage device 3 is requested to store the digital broadcast data according to meta data included in the digital broadcast data, changes the buffer area into a file area, reserves a new buffer area and repetitively applies data storage processing to the buffer area.
