PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extremely simply producing a strong carbonized woven fabric. SOLUTION: This method for producing the carbonized woven fabric, comprising spinning flame-resistant fibers comprising acrylic precursors, weaving the spun yarns, and then carbonizing the obtained woven fabric, is characterized by washing the woven fabric to reduce the amount of adhered stain substances to≤0.5 wt.% and then carbonizing the washed woven fabric.
