摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide spherical carbon material particles which are superior in processability, each 500μm or smaller in diameter, used for an aqueous EDLC electrode, and capable of improving an electric double layer in electrostatic capacity in a region of high discharge current density. SOLUTION: Spherical carbon material particles for an electric double layer capacitor electrode are porous and each 500μm or smaller in particle diameter and each have a large number of pores, and a median pore diameter that is defined in the distribution of pores through a gas adsorption method by the use of carbon dioxide gas ranges from 8.1 to 8.4Åor 9.3 to 12.4Å, and a peak differential pore volume is 0.073 cc/(g.Å) or larger.
