PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tone detector for correctly detecting a tone signal in a short time unit. SOLUTION: The tone detector is provided with a control part 51 for measuring a plurality of systems of prescribed measurement time sections by shifting them at every fixed time and for reading tone signals stored in a memory 53 at every measurement time section, detection processing parts A54, B55, C56 for extracting features of the read tone signals and a tone judgment part 57 for detecting and judging a tone for each of a plurality of the systems based on the features detected by the detection processing parts A54, B55, C56, detects, judges the tone by measuring a plurality of the systems of prescribed measurement time sections by shifting them at every fixed time, thus, detection results can be obtained at every shifted fixed time as holding measurement time required for detection and the tone can be detected in a short time unit.
