PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protective structure of a tuyere for a metallurgical furnace which prevents hot contents in the furnace from being directly dropping on the upper side of the tuyere and prolongs the service life of the tuyere. SOLUTION: In the protective device of the tuyere 1 which is provided to blow hot air into the metallurgical furnace used to smelt ores or the like and supported by a refractory 4 disposed therearound, a metal piece 6 having a refrigerant passage 8 is protruded on the in-furnace side and arranged on the upper part of the refractory 4 above the tuyere.
